This homemade tea biscuit recipe is as old as the hills, and still makes the BEST tea biscuits I’ve ever tasted.
So moist, and the raisins make them even better. I offer more of my homemade biscuit recipes at the bottom of the page.
This recipe is old as the hills and from Marion Linden. I love you Deet, and miss you so much.
THE BEST TEA BISCUITS
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 tsp nutmeg
7-1/2 TBS homemade unsalted butter
1/2 cup raisins
milk to moisten
1 tsp homemade pure vanilla extract
PREHEAT oven to 400 degrees, and lightly spray a cookie sheet with vegetable oil.
Mix ingredients together and roll out to 1/2″ thick. Cut out in circles and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. I don’t let them get golden on top – biscuits are not as moist when the tops are golden brown.
