Pizza Toast Recipe with marinara sauce #misshomemade

Pizza Toast with Marinara Sauce

bread slices*

shredded mozzarella cheese

pizza sauce

Topping Ideas

cooked sausage
sliced mushrooms
pepperoni
onion
fresh basil
oregano
garlic powder
Canadian bacon
sliced olives

If you are using white bread slices, just toast in the toaster and butter the slices.
If you are using Texas Toast, French or Italian bread, slice at a slant, butter the slices and sprinkle with garlic powder.  Broil in the oven for a few minutes until golden brown.

Bring out of the oven and begin building your masterpiece.  Sauce, then toppings.  Sometimes I don't want sauce because I am building on slices of garlic bread (buttered and sprinkled with garlic powder) and just add cheese and a slice of tomato.

Place back under the broiler until cheese is melted.  Top with fresh basil leaves if using and dip in marinara sauce.

Recipe Notes

*Bread slices could be anything from white bread to:

  • Texas Toast
  • French Bread
  • Tortillas

and everything in between.

I want to take a moment to shout out to those that are sacrificing their lives to save ours.  You are my hero and in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless each and every one of you.
