This homemade orange bread recipe will knock your socks off. So moist, so delicious, it’s love in a loaf pan.

Orange Bread Recipe
OLD FASHIONED ORANGE BREAD FROM SCRATCH
2-1/2 cups flour
1 cup white sugar
1 TBS baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp homemade pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
3 TBS grated orange rind
3/4 cup evaporated milk
2 TBS butter, melted
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
PREHEAT oven to 350 degrees. Grease loaf pan; set aside.
In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients. In another bowl, combine egg, vanilla, orange juice, orange rind, evaporated milk and melted butter. Add to dry ingredients just until combined.
Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Poke gently with fork and cool for 10 minutes. Drizzle with glaze and cool completely. Wrap with foil. Let chill overnight in the refrigerator to ripen.
Orange Glaze
1 to 1-1/2 cups homemade powdered sugar
1 TBS butter, melted
1/4 (or more) fresh orange juice
Just mix these ingredients together and drizzle over the top.
NOTE
You can add:
3/4 cup fresh blueberries (optional)
1 TBS flour (goes with the blueberries)
or
You may also use cranberries and even small pieces of pineapple with 1/4 cup sweet coconut added to the batter.

ORANGE APPLE BREAD RECIPE
2 cups flour
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1/3 cup orange juice
1/4 cup nuts (optional)
1 TBS grated orange rind
1 egg
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup golden raisins (optional)
1 cup peeled chopped apples
PREHEAT oven to 350 degrees and grease a large family size soup can; filled 2/3 full – or a 46 ounce juice can. You can also used a greased loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour.
