Healthy Granola Bar Recipe

This healthy granola bar recipe could have 100’s of variations, and it’s all up to you and your tastes. These snack recipes are filling, full of fiber and delicious.

NOTE: You may use chocolate protein powder instead of the flour for added nutrition and sweetness. You may also omit the brown sugar and oil.

Healthy Granola Bar Recipe


1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup Grape Nut cereal
1 tsp cinnamon
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup applesauce
1/4 cup honey
3 TBS brown sugar, packed
2 TBS canola oil
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 cup almonds, chopped
1 (7oz) bag dried mixed fruit, tropical or whatever you like

PREHEAT oven to 325 degrees, and line a square baking pan with foil. Spray the pan with cooking spray.

In a large bowl mix together the oats, flour, cereal and cinnamon. Add the egg, applesauce, honey, brown sugar and oil Mix until incorporated. Stir in nuts, seeds and dried fruit. After mixing again, spread evenly in the prepared pan.

Bake for 30 minutes; or until firm and lightly browned around the edges. Remove from the oven and cool. Use the foil and lift from the pan. Cut into bars, or squares and store covered in the refrigerator.

These are a great snack when camping, fishing, hunting or hiking.
