This chili sauce recipe is a little different than most recipes and I believe so much better than the typical chili sauce you buy at the store.
Homemade Indian Sauce
12 ripe tomatoes
9 apples (not Red
Delicious)
8
onions
1 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp nutmeg
2 cups vinegar
3 cups brown sugar
1 TBS salt (or to taste)
Chop the tomatoes, apples and
onions. Add the remaining ingredients.
You may need to skim off some liquid after cooking for two hours; or until
mixture is thick. Place in pint jars with lids. You may use a
pressure cooker or hot water bath to seal.
