How to Make Peanut Butter


4 cups peanuts (roasted and salted)
3 TBS peanut oil

Add 3 cups of the peanuts into the food processor and process for 2 minutes.

It’ll take that long for the nuts to break down and become oily.

When it is almost smooth, add the peanut oil and process again for a minute. Then add the last cup of nuts and process until you have reached the desired chunkiness or smoothness you want. 

I don’t want to overstate it but – this is the best peanut butter you’ll ever eat.  Make peanut butter cookies, make a sandwich or grab a spoon – your family will flip.  This makes approximately 3 cups of peanut butter.  The recipe easily can be halved.

For the following additions, it just comes down to your own taste buds.  These are some tasty additions to try below.
Honey Roasted Peanut Butter – add the following:

1 or 2 TBS honey

Process instructions above.

Chocolate Peanut Butter  – add the following:
1 or 2 TBS cocoa powder, Nutella or chocolate chips (to taste)
1 or 2 TBS powdered sugar (to taste)

How to Roast Spanish Peanuts for Honey Roasted Peanut Butter

2 cups raw Spanish peanuts
1 tsp salt
1 TBS honey (or to taste)
1-1/2 TBS peanut oil

PREHEAT oven to 350 degrees.

Place the peanuts on a baking sheet and roast for 15 minutes. Allow to cool and rub peanuts to remove the skins. Place in the food processor or blender and add salt and the honey; processing for 1 minute. Scrape down the sides and turn the appliance back on. Slowly add the peanut oil and continue processing until smooth.

You may also just purchase honey roasted peanuts and process two cups of nuts in the blender with 1-1/2 TBS peanut oil.

Store in the refrigerator for two months in an airtight container.

Toast two slices of peanut butter bread and spread with butter and Nutella.  Reese’s nirvana! A great quick bread recipe.


2-1/2 cups all purpose flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup peanut butter (recipe above)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1-3/4 cups milk

PREHEAT oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt and set aside.  In a separate bowl, beat the peanut butter, granulated sugar and vanilla until well combined.  Add the egg.

Gradually add the milk and stir until well blended before adding the flour mixture. 

Bake in the prepared pan for 60 minutes.  Let cool for 10 minutes.
