This grilled fish recipe is basic and so easy you will wonder why you didn’t grill fish easier. Use cod, haddock or any of your favorite white fish fillets.
Grilled Fish Recipe
Using a grill basket (above) makes it so much easier to grill delicate fish fillets and vegetables. I like the flat one too.
white fish fillets, room temperature
olive or avocado oil
garlic powder
onion powder
freshly ground black pepper
Lightly rub the fillets with oil and sprinkle each side with garlic powder, onion powder and black pepper.
Cover and grill fillets on each side 1 to 2 minutes (depending on the thickness) and gently flip over using a spatula – do not force it or the fillet will break.
Grill another two minutes and if it flakes easily with a fork it is done. Do not overcook.
Let sit 3-5 minutes.
Lemon Sauce
1/4 cup melted butter
1 TBS freshly squeezed lemon juice
Mix together and drizzle over grilled fish before topping with the garnish.Garnish
1. Grill an ear of corn, butter and sprinkle lightly with cayenne pepper – slice off
- Place ear of corn (or several) on the grill and turn every 5 minutes. Takes 15-20 minutes to cook.
2. Slice cherry tomatoes in half
3. Thinly sliced radish (optional)
4. Snipped green onion
Serve over grilled fish.
Recipe Notes
General rule of thumb is 6-8 minutes of grilling time (3-4 minutes on each side) per inch of fish fillet thickness. Remember to let sit 3-5 after cooking.
