Airy French Croutons Recipe
6 cups French bread (day old), sliced into 1/2 inch cubes
1/3 cup olive oil
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp sea salt (optional)
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
Optional:
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp dill
1 tsp lemon pepper
1 tsp cajun seasoning
1 tsp greek seasoning
PREHEAT oven to 350 degrees and place rack in the center of the oven.
Place the sliced bread in a bowl and drizzle with the oil. Toss so every piece is coated and if you need more oil add a little more. Now put the oil covered croutons in a bag with the spices and seasons you chose to use. Shake so everything is covered and place on a baking sheet.
Bake for 12 minutes or until croutons are golden brown. Stir them on the baking sheet, turn off the oven and leave them in there with the door closed until they have cooled completely. Place in an airtight container.
