Chinese Pepper Steak Recipe

1 TBS oil
red bell pepper, seeded and sliced into strips
green bell pepper, seeded and sliced into strips
1-1/4 lbs flank steak, sliced
1-1/2 TBS cornstarch
2 TBS freshly minced garlic
1 TBS freshly minced ginger
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 TBS white granulated sugar (or more to taste)

serve with cooked white rice

In a skillet, heat 1 tsp of oil on medium heat.  Add the sliced bell peppers and saute for 3-5 peppers; put on a plate.

Add the remaining 2 tsp of oil and add the flank steak strips.  Season with salt and pepper.  Increase the heat to high and cook for five minutes. Add the minced garlic and ginger and stir well.  Add the bell pepper back to the pan.

In a small bowl, add the soy sauce and whisk in the sugar, 1/4 cup water and the cornstarch.  Add to the flank steak mixture, bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook for 3 minutes.  Put in serving bowl with cooked white rice.
