The perfect fall treat is this warm apple cranberry sauce over vanilla ice cream. These spiced apples and cranberries are the perfect ice cream companion.
4 large granny smith apples (or your favorite), peeled, cored and sliced
1 cup fresh cranberries
1 cup water
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tsp butter
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Place everything in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until cranberries pop and apples are tender; approximately 20 minutes.
Serve instead of cranberry sauce during the holidays, just dice the apples instead of having chunks. Perfect with turkey.
