Before...

I was gained weight gain and my fibromyalgia pain kicked into overdrive.  I was addicted to junk food and sugar, and was between a rock and a hard place.  I was borderline diabetic and had high cholesterol and high blood pressure too.  I knew it was time to do something about it.  But what?

What I am about to tell you is that this did not happen overnight.  I knew I had to change my eating habits and cut out sugar because I was on the verge of developing diabetes.

First I started to make my own salad.  My favorite salad and I loved it so much I ate it everyday for lunch for a week, then a month, heck I ate it all through summer.  Talk about cravings; I craved this salad and it also helped me lose a lot of weight.  What also made it wonderful was I made the salad dressing and knew everything in it and it was so much healthier. 

But that was just the beginning.

Instead of a potato, I grilled vegetables like zucchini, onions, broccoli and cauliflower. Do you know how good they were on the grill?  So tender and just as flavorful as roasting; and no hot kitchen.  During the winter months I just used a grill pan on the stove.  You can pick up a Lodge grill pan at your local WalMart.  It worked great.

I was beginning to crave vegetables, lean meat and still was losing weight I loved the fresh grilled  flavor and ate it frequently.

Do you know what happened?  I started to feel so-much-better.  Honestly.  And due to having more energy I began to look forward to cooking food from scratch again. 

And do you know what else happened?  I no longer craved sugar.  Or junk food.  I was so excited I also stayed full for a few hours not 60 minutes and looking for something to eat. 

This collection is what I did to lose the weight, cook healthy food, reduce sugar and junk food cravings and brought my blood sugar and cholesterol numbers back down.

You know what made me share it with you? Family members want to taste the food I was eating and insisted I give them the recipes - they in turn also lost weight too!
