This easy meatball recipe is affectionately called my three way meatballs. There are three options you may use to cook these depending on how you are going to serve them and each one is delicious.
This easy Italian recipe is a winner at our house. Moist and so delicious.
THREE WAY ITALIAN MEATBALLS
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp sweet basil
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (or 2 TBS dried)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/3 cup bread crumbs
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp salt
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1/3 cup milk
oil for cooking
Combine all ingredients by hand. Wet hands and form into 2 inch balls. Fry in oil until evenly browned before lowering into simmering spaghetti sauce. Stir occasionally with a spoon and simmer for a few hours.
Drop the meatballs into the simmering pasta sauce and do not stir for twenty minutes. The meatballs will fall apart if you do. Simmer for another twenty minutes for a total of forty minutes cooking time.
Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes or until cooked completely throughout.
