This recipe for loaded baked potato soup is outstanding. You will agree after tasting the rich and creamy texture with crispy bacon and melted cheese; it's dreamy actually. I offer many variations of homemade potato soup that are so tasty and satisfying. Let's get cooking.

HOMEMADE BAKED POTATO SOUP

2 large cooked baked potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 cup half-and-half cream
5 bacon strips, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 tsp homemade garlic powder
1 tsp homemade onion powder

3 TBS flour
salt and pepper to taste

Serve with:
cheddar cheese, shredded
green onion, chopped
sour cream

In a skillet, fry chopped bacon and onion until bacon is cooked and onion is tender. Remove and drain; set aside.

In the same bacon fat, add the flour and whisk together until smooth. Gradually whisk in the broth, bring to a boil and mix for two minutes. Add the potatoes and half-and-half. Mix well until heated through. Top each serving with cheddar cheese, bacon and sour cream. Delish.

FRESH CHICKEN SALAD RECIPE

3/4 cup homemade mayonnaise
1/4 cup homemade cherry conserve
1/2 tsp curry powder
1/4 tsp salt
12 ounces crushed pineapple, well drained and squeezed dry
1/4 tsp lemon juice
2 cups finely chopped cooked chicken
1 cup finely diced celery
1/2 cup sliced green onion

First combine the mayonnaise, chutney, curry powder and salt. Add remaining ingredients - chill before serving.
