LEMON DROP MARTINI RECIPE

You will definitely save this Lemon Drop Martini recipe; it's a keeper for sure.

I was a bartender 25 years ago, and saved my cocktail drink recipes. I still know how to mix up a good drink. Enjoy.

The first of many of my cocktail drink recipes - is simple to make and a staple when making cocktails and beverages alike. It's for simple syrup.

Lemon Drop Martini Recipe
I keep mine in a covered glass jar in the refrigerator. If you are making lemonade or sweet tea, this comes in handy also.

SIMPLE SYRUP

2 cups water
2 cups white sugar

Combine in a small sauce and bring to a boil. Simmer until all sugar is dissolved. Cool, and store in a airtight container.

LEMON DROP RECIPE

2 oz Kettle One Citron vodka
1/2 ounce triple sec
1/2 ounce simple syrup, recipe above
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
lemon slice for garnish
superfine sugar* to rim glass

Slice the lemon in half and squeeze the fresh lemon juice into a bowl. Slice the other half. Fill the martini glass with ice and a little water; set aside.

Mix the vodka, triple sec, simple syrup and triple sec in a cocktail shaker half filled with ice. Shake well to mix. Empty glass and dunk the martini glass rim into the lemon juice and then into the sugar to create a sugar-rimmed glass. Strain the martini and pour into the prepared glass.

*Put some granulated sugar in a blender and pulse a few times to make it super fine.

NOTE
To make a BLUEBERRY Lemon Martini substitute 1/2 ounce of the vodka for blueberry vodka. Skewer blueberries for garnish.
