KFC SECRET RECIPE FOR CHICKEN

Miss Homemade has the KFC Secret Recipe for chicken and you can make it tonight. It's so easy to make. I have the KFC recipe down pat. This Kentucky Fried Chicken Recipe is extra-crispy, juicy and SO GOOD.

KFC Secret Recipe

HERE'S THE RECIPE

Marinade

MSG is a important ingredient to many of KFC'S products. It is a natural amino acid found in vegetables. ACCENT flavor enhancer is what I purchase to make this chicken. It's found in the spice aisle at the supermarket.

1 TBS salt
1/2 tsp Accent
water

Soak the chicken pieces in about 4 cups of water after dissolving the salt and Accent. Turn and marinate for 20 minutes.

1 whole fryer, cut up
8 cups vegetable shortening, heated to 350 degrees

COATING:
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk
2 cups flour
2-1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
3/4 tsp Accent

Whisk the egg and milk in a bowl. Sift the dry ingredients together and place in another bowl.

Meanwhile, after the chicken is done marinating, bring it out of the bowl and let dry on paper towels completely. DO NOT RINSE.

Coat one piece of chicken in the dry ingredients and then dip it in the egg mixture, and then dip again in the flour mixture. Coat generously and place on a cookie sheet. Repeat with the remaining chicken pieces.

Carefully place 4 pieces of chicken in the hot vegetable shortening and fry for 12-15 minutes; or until each piece is entirely a light golden brown. Drain before eating. Delish.

HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY MUFFIN RECIPE

2 cups flour
1 cup white sugar
1 TBS baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup milk or half-and-half
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 tsp strawberry extract (optional)
1-1/2 cups fresh strawberries, quartered

Top the muffins with my Old-Fashioned Cream Cheese Frosting
(only make half of the recipe)

whole strawberries, halved (garnish)
powdered sugar (garnish)

PREHEAT oven to 400 degrees. Grease or use paper lined muffin tin; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine eggs, milk, oil and strawberry extract. Stir into the dry ingredients and mix JUST until incorporated (there will be lumps). Fold in quartered strawberries.

Spoon into greased muffin tins and sprinkle tops lightly with white sugar. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar and top with a dollop of cream cheese frosting. Nestle a halved strawberry on top and smile. You just created a "good thing."
