My easy homemade soup recipes from scratch are easy to prepare, and will produce
beautiful results with a minimal amount of effort on your part. If you have a crock pot, it works great with my chicken and dumpling soup below.
A hot bowl of soup has to be one of the most inviting meals on a cold
day, and serving it with a loaf of warm fresh bread, and you'll come
down with soup nirvana - a wonderful illness. So grab a cup of coffee and find your family's next favorite soup.
A pot of delicious homemade chicken noodle soup is very simple to prepare. Just add some homemade chicken broth/stock, fresh vegetables, noodles, chicken meat, seasoning in a pot, and simmer on the stove for a couple of hours.
There are many other soups, such as vegetable beef soup, that can be made just as easy, simply by changing the broth, and using beef for meat instead of chicken.
Homemade soup also freezes well. If you make a large pot, you can freeze what is left for another simple meal, with practically no effort at all. This can be a real plus for a busy family on the go.
I firmly believe that soup helps me get better (and faster) when I'm sick. I don't think anyone can deny though, that when you have a cold or the flu, nothing makes you feel better that a hot bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup.

Now that you have an eye on some soup, why not make a loaf of bread, rolls or cornbread muffins to dunk into the soup. Corn bread is excellent with chili and Italian bread and butter is wonderful with beef stew.
I have also been know to eat peanut butter sandwiches with chili, stew or vegetable beef soup.
