HOMEMADE CONDIMENTS

I can't believe people don't make homemade condiments. You are missing out on a great addition to any meal and you don't have the additives, preservatives, chemicals and high fructose corn syrup.

Homemade Condiments
We all know what condiments are. They are things put on the dining table that are added to your food to improve (or mask) the taste.

The big three of condiments are ketchup, mayonnaise and mustard. You can bet the ranch that you or someone you know will be using one or more of the big three today.

This page is gold to me. I call these my DIY condiment recipes, and it is one of the most important pages you will find on my website.

This page (to me) is worth hundreds of dollars in a year from money I saved using these recipes. And that's not all. The great part? The food tastes better and there is no chemicals or preservatives.

So relish in these recipes. From homemade mayonnaise to homemade salad dressings and so much more. See for yourself below...

I just picked up this cookbook and wanted you to know that it is a great collection of Most Guarded Restaurant Recipes that you can make in your own kitchen. The same tastes and flavors for a fraction of the cost and I highly recommend it. You know my motto: Don't buy it when you can make it homemade!

FEATURED RECIPE:

HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY MUFFIN RECIPE

2 cups flour
1 cup white sugar
1 TBS baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup milk or half-and-half
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 tsp strawberry extract (optional)
1-1/2 cups fresh strawberries, quartered

Top the muffins with my Old-Fashioned Cream Cheese Frosting
(only make half of the recipe)

whole strawberries, halved (garnish)
powdered sugar (garnish)

PREHEAT oven to 400 degrees. Grease or use paper lined muffin tin; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine eggs, milk, oil and strawberry extract. Stir into the dry ingredients and mix JUST until incorporated (there will be lumps). Fold in quartered strawberries.

Spoon into greased muffin tins and sprinkle tops lightly with white sugar. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar and top with a dollop of cream cheese frosting. Nestle a halved strawberry on top and smile. You just created a "good thing."
