HOMEMADE COLD DIP RECIPES

The BEST Hot Dip Recipes

Bread and Cracker Appetizer Spread Recipes

I have tasty cold dip recipes that will soon become favorites.

From hot, cold, tangy and savory to sweet dips that you can use for desserts. I guess in Wisconsin, we are "dip freaks."

So grab a cup of coffee and browse at your leisure. More homemade appetizer recipes at the bottom of the page.

Cold Dip Recipes
Some of the many cold dip recipes are for spinach dip, taco dip, dill dip, olive dip, shrimp dip and many more.

I have one problem with these recipes. They are called appetizers, but I end up eating them as a meal...

Easy Cold Appetizer Recipes

The first of my cold dip recipes is very popular (and delicious too).

HOMEMADE SPINACH DIP

2 cups homemade mayonnaise
2 cups sour cream
2 pkgs Knorr dry leek soup mix
1 pkg of dried beef, shredded (optional)

2 (4oz) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
1 pkg (10oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1 loaf round sourdough or pumpernickel bread

In a small bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients and mix thoroughly. Set aside.

Hand squeeze the spinach to be certain there is no water in it and add to the mayo mixture. Place in an airtight container and refrigerate overnight for best flavor.

The next day slice off the top and remove the interior of the loaf. Rip these bread chunks into bite-sized pieces to dip with. Fill hollowed loaf with the refrigerated dip and place the pieces around the loaf. Enjoy.

Best Taco Dip Recipe
MARCI'S TACO DIP RECIPE

One of my favorite homemade dip recipes...My sister makes this awesome dip and it disappears before you know it! I have seen her make it on a large plate or as big as a 24" round serving platter. So the measurements are for the large plate.

1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese
1 small pkg sour cream

Mix the above two ingredients together and cover the bottom of your serving plate completely.

1 bottle Ortega mild taco sauce (or your favorite brand)
Then pour taco sauce over the cream cheese mixture.

Fry the ground beef with the taco seasoning adding 1 TBS water:
1 lb ground beef
1 pkg homemade taco seasoning

Drain fat, and sprinkle over the taco sauce.

Add the following ingredients in the order listed:
shredded iceberg lettuce
quartered cherry tomatoes
sliced black olives
1 bag of shredded cheddar cheese
chopped green onion tops

Chill for a few hours....

Restaurant style tortilla chips or lime flavored chips are used to dip into this delicious dip.

Recipe for Dill Dip
