BEST DEVILED EGG RECIPE

This is the best deviled egg recipe; an easy dish to bring and a great way to start out a meal.

Cold appetizer recipes like homemade dips and homemade spreads would be one of the first recipes I would bring to a party.

BEST Deviled Egg Recipe


HOW TO MAKE DEVILED EGGS

12 eggs
1/2 cup homemade mayonnaise
5 bacon slices
2 TBS fancy (finely) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 TBS homemade mustard

Place eggs in a saucepan, and cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil and immediately remove from heat. Cover, and let eggs stand in hot water for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from hot water, and cool. To cool more quickly, rinse eggs under cold running water.

Meanwhile, place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly brown. Alternatively, wrap bacon in paper towels and cook in the microwave for about 1 minute per slice. Crumble and set aside.

Peel the hard-cooked eggs, and cut in half lengthwise. Remove yolks to a small bowl. Mash egg yolks with mayonnaise, crumbled bacon and cheese. Stir in mustard. Fill egg white halves with the yolk mixture and refrigerate until serving. An easy appetizer recipe that will have them coming back for more.






SPICY DEVILED EGG RECIPE

12 hard-boiled eggs
3/4 cup homemade mayonnaise
1 TBS homemade Dijon mustard
1 TBS pickled jalapeno peppers, finely chopped
1/4 tsp salt

Remove yolks and place in a medium bowl. Add the remaining ingredients; mixing until smooth. Carefully spoon egg mixture back into the egg white halves.






EASY DEVILED EGG RECIPE

8 eggs
1/2 cup fried and crumbled bacon
1/2 cup crushed potato chips
6 TBS salad dressing
1 tsp prepared mustard
paprika, for garnish

Hard cook eggs and remove shells. While warm, cut lengthwise in half. Mash yolks and mix with the next four ingredients. Fill whites heaping full and sprinkle with paprika.

FEATURED RECIPE:


HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY MUFFIN RECIPE

2 cups flour
1 cup white sugar
1 TBS baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 cup milk or half-and-half
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 tsp strawberry extract (optional)
1-1/2 cups fresh strawberries, quartered

Top the muffins with my Old-Fashioned Cream Cheese Frosting
(only make half of the recipe)

whole strawberries, halved (garnish)
powdered sugar (garnish)

PREHEAT oven to 400 degrees. Grease or use paper lined muffin tin; set aside.

In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine eggs, milk, oil and strawberry extract. Stir into the dry ingredients and mix JUST until incorporated (there will be lumps). Fold in quartered strawberries.

Spoon into greased muffin tins and sprinkle tops lightly with white sugar. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar and top with a dollop of cream cheese frosting. Nestle a halved strawberry on top and smile. You just created a "good thing."


Strawberry Banana Muffins
add 3/4 cups strawberries and
3/4 cup chopped banana


Strawberry Rhubarb Muffins
add 1 cup strawberries and
1/2 cup chopped rhubarb
